As Curator Emeritus of American Music at the Smithsonian he has curated exhibits on music legends Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and Ray Charles. He's also a regular contributor to The Wall Street Journal, a Grammy-nominated producer and author, accomplished musician, and esteemed speaker. And he’s the ideal guest to have as we celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month. After all, he created it back in 2001.
