Description
During her 17-year career as a PA, Ilaina Moyer has made many shifts, realizations and changes in her path. From emergency medicine to plastic surgery and shifting between inpatient, to academia, to outpatient and back into the hospital, these pivots were all to get to a schedule that worked for Ilaina and her family.
In this conversation, Ilaina shares what happens when you start to take these chances, starting before you are ready, and leaning into the unknown as you practice medicine. Mentorship and leadership are huge parts of what her career has grown into and being diligent about being the mentor she wished she had earlier in her career is a key piece of Iliana’s core values and career. You are not going to want to miss this conversation, it’s like sitting down over coffee with a mentor you might not have in real life.
Tearing down gatekeeping, labeling and segmenting each other in medicine will improve the healthcare system and culture across your organization and healthcare in general.
