Description

On this episode of Making Ways, filmmaker Tim Nackashi joins the show to talk about his first steps into the world of film, share behind-the-scenes commentary about some of his acclaimed music videos, and deliver great advice for aspiring filmmakers. Tim is a self-taught director. He grew up playing in bands, studied painting in college, and first earned his stripes working on his documentary Dirty Work, executive produced by Ed Norton. Over the years, Tim has created visually groundbreaking, often high-concept music videos for OK Go, Maroon 5, Death Cab for Cutie, TV on the Radio, Craig Wedren, and many more. As Tim discusses his work, you’ll get to know the process by which he pitches and directs and learn more about the powerful short films he’s helmed over the years, such as Through the Wall and Is History Repeating Itself?, both focused on the human stories behind some of today’s most heated debates. You’ll also hear about the reality of on-set life and the challenges of breaking through in the world of entertainment. Tune in for a new episode, shot on location in Los Angeles, with award-winning filmmaker and my friend Tim Nackashi. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
