Description
Last year, an investigation by the Indian Express’ Ritika Chopra revealed that the NCERT had decided to make sweeping changes in social science school textbooks for Classes 6 to 12. These were the most exhaustive changes since the NDA government had come to power in 2014. They included deleting references to the 2002 Gujarat riots, dropping passages that dealt with Emergency’s draconian impact on people and institutions, and removing chapters on protests and social movements.Today, we bring you the episode we had published regarding this back in June, along with an update about how even more changes have been made to these textbooks.Hosted, scripted, and produced by Shashank BhargavaEdited and mixed by Suresh PawarGuests: Political commentator Suhas Palshikar and sociologist Yogendra Yadav
