Her experience inspired her to pursue a career in architecture. Through the creation of her podcast, Melissa is exploring her identity and the role architects can take in political activism and design. She received the 2022 AIA Whitney M Young Award and the 2018 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Associates Award.
