Mike Brewer, Chief Economist of the Resolution Foundation think-tank, says the next UK Prime Minister must intervene to bring down the cost of energy for households, rather than favouring another cash payout like the current £400 rebate. Brewer told Bloomberg's Caroline Hepker and Stephen Carroll that disposable income in the UK is going to drop by around 10% over two years as soaring energy bills drive inflation higher.
