Description

(Trigger Warning - The third and final question on today’s episode relates to the issue of suicide and how to speak to our children about the subject.)
Question 1: No Dramas
Stage fright is no fun at any point but when you’re five it’s a hard feeling to understand and push through. How do you arm your child with the confidence they need to be able to enjoy performing again.
Question 2: Motivation
How can you motivate a child who has lost their drive. Is there any reaching them? Can reward charts work with older kids? Not wanting to study for your leaving cert or care about having to repeat is alarming. How can you get your child back on track and get them excited about their future. Tina helps this mother find a way to ignite her child’s interests and get her to enjoy investing in her future again.
Question 3: Life & Death
This week Tina and Jarlath deal with their toughest question yet. A Mom gets in touch, extremely concerned for her 16 year old son who has recently lost a friend to suicide. Tina and Jarlath try their best to navigate this extremely sensitive subject while helping the mother become aware of the signs to watch out for, the places and resources available to help her through this time. If you have any advice that would also be helpful please get in touch by emailing honeyyouareruiningourkid@gmail.com.
