This week, leading up to the Fourth of July, I was thinking about perhaps the most famous words from our Declaration of Independence. "We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness."  I think for many people in 2020 homesteading epitomized those words.I think there were a lot of people who woke up in 2020 to the fact that our food system is very, very fragile, that our political system is an absolute mess and that when it all boils down to it, we need to take greater responsibility for our Life. And our Liberty and our Pursuit of Happiness.
