In this episode we are joined by Allison Marquez, talking all things singing, dancing, and acting. Allison grew up in Visalia CA and graduated from Golden West high school, where she fostered her love for singing and dancing. She attended Chapman University in Orange County where she received her Bachelors of Music with an emphasis in Vocal Performance.
During her time in Orange County, Allison taught private voice and piano lessons at Orange County Music Academy. She was also in multiple singing ensembles. Upon graduating in 2015, Allison set off on her performance journey to Universal Studios Japan working as an actress. After a year in Japan, she enjoyed her time as a Production Vocalist for Celebrity Cruises.
Since 2020, Allison has spent her time closer to home running a theatre arts program in Visalia. She is the director of theatre arts for Dancers Edge. She oversees 150+ students that train and perform in various disciplines of performing arts. Her Production classes spend the school year learning a full musical (kid friendly). They showcase the students hard work in June every season. The kids get to experience live theatre inside and beautiful local facility.
Her Triple Threats performing team, travels the state performing for public and private events. They’re young students train weekly in voice, acting, and dance. They are truly triple threats. And lastly, the program she grew from the ground up: Edge Music. This program is a vocal music-based class that teaches singers the fundamentals of singing and performing. Any style and any experience level can be found in these classes.
Allison is deeply passionate about sharing her experiences with students of all ages. Her goal is to ignite the same desire and drive in students from the Central Valley that was ignited in her.
