Description

On today's episode, Jason and Super Producer Rob G (Robert Guerra) hit us with an instant reaction podcast to the blockbuster trade that saw the Brooklyn Nets send Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns for Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson and a boatload of first round picks. The guys agree the move instantly puts the Suns back into NBA championship contention, but disagree on whether or not it makes Phoenix the favorites in the Western Conference. Devin Booker - like Durant - will be coming off a serious injury and Chris Paul has been looking rather washed recently. On the flip side, after trading away both KD and Kyrie Irving in less than a week, it's hard to figure out what the Nets' plan is moving forward. They have a glut of forwards and a treasure trove of draft picks, but no real franchise cornerstone players to build around. Something tells us Brooklyn will continue to be active on the trade market in the hours leading up to the trade deadline. Finally, J-Mac and Rob G close the show by sharing their thoughts on the Los Angeles Lakers' decision to trade Russell Westbrook for D'Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt. This move makes the Lakers better but not so much where you'd consider them to be legitimate contenders in the West... even less so now that KD is in Phoenix. By trading Westbrook the Lakers essentially just rearranged the deck chairs on the Titanic.
**Apologies for the audio quality on today's podcast. The Kevin Durant trade broke in the wee hours of the morning so the guys were unable to record using their normal microphone setup**
