Description
The C.O.W.S. Radio Program welcomes Cameron McWhirter. A Phi Beta Kappa history graduate, McWhirter is a staff reporter for the Wall Street Journal. We'll discuss his 2011 publication, Red Summer: The Summer of 1919 and the Awakening of Black America. This book explores the many incidents of White Terrorist violence against black people in the U.S. during the early 20th century. The book examines White violence in Illinois, Washington, D.C., Arkansas and other locations. Gus was especially struck by the White barbarism in the nation's capitol where historian and author Carter G. Woodson was nearly killed. He had not yet written The Mis-Education of the Negro. McWhirter emphasizes that all types of Whites joined in the terrorism (older Whites, younger Whites, poor Whites, Rich Whites, "dumb" Whites, smart Whites...) Pay close attention to our exchange about the murder of 14-year old Emmett Till as well as the financial crisis of 2008. This White Wall Street Journal reported claimed to be ignorant about black and non-white people being deliberate targeted by Racist bankers with "subprime loans". #WhiteViolence INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 605.313.5164 CODE 564943#
