Description

Welcome to the season four finale of Art Is... a podcast for artists where Career Coach Lauryn Hill and Isotta explore the overlapping challenges that creatives face and potential solutions to work through those tough times. They also chat about where they’d like to see the creative industry grow and improve in the coming years, including more meaningful collaboration and creative opportunities to make money. Lauryn describes her experience navigating the coaching paradigm and working with creatives who are facing similar issues, despite coming from different industry sectors. She highlights how important it is for artists to embrace variety, diversity, and career shifts. The industry is becoming much less segmented and celebrates multidimensional creatives with transferable skills. Part of expanding your range can come from working with different people within and outside of your community. Lauryn notes that there’s been a movement towards cultivating more transparency in the art world, particularly around lessons learned. Join Isotta and Lauryn as they discuss ways to add value and create opportunities for artists.  Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, or on your favorite podcast platform.Topics Covered:How to avoid limiting yourself as a creative The benefits of having exposure to different experiences and learning from new people through part-time jobs or short-term gigs How artists from across industries can re-invest their learning into the communityFree and low-cost resources for people who are struggling in their creative practice, but aren’t ready to financially invest in coaching Why we should be challenging the ‘starving artist’ archetype Breaking down the hierarchy and gatekeeping of information in the art world Resources: Download Lauryn’s free Career Clarity Starter KitGuest Info:Contact Lauryn: lauryn@curatedsplash.comLauryn’s websiteLauryn’s InstagramFollow Us:Our WebsiteInstagram | Isotta’s InstagramFacebookTwitterDonate | Music by Blue Dot Sessions | Cover art by Eleonora Tucci Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/art-is/donations

We are brainstorming the future of the art world. On Art Is… Isotta Page encourages other emerging artists, students and early-career creatives to collectively visualize the future of the art world and the creative industries. Season 1 is a narrative miniseries—7 short monologues designed to spark your interest and introduce you to creative knowledge tools, emerging tech, innovative business models, and alternative mindsets impacting artists today. Season 2 revisits each theme from Season 1 through conversations with creative thought leaders, emerging artists, and change-makers in the tech industry, design world and startup space. Season 3 follows the theme 'artists leveraging tech' and dives into new ideas around digital strategy and leadership for artists and creatives. We also return to topics from past seasons including: learning from beyond the traditional art world (especially startup and design spaces), exploring alternative business models and investigating the opportunities presented by emerging tech (NFT's, Metaverse, Web 3 and more! ).Art Is... seeks to destigmatize storytelling, break down barriers between creative disciplines, and embolden artists to broaden their perspectives by learning from other industries. On the podcast, we push back against traditional art world norms to gain agency over our art careers and work to build a creative community that will change the landscape of contemporary art and beyond.Rate, Review & Subscribe!Follow us on InstagramDonate
