Jaclyn Alterwein joins me tonight to share her story of hope and empowerment through her breast cancer journey. After having stood beside her mother and 2 close friends as a co-survivor during their breast cancer journeys, Jaclyn received her annual mammogram at age 45 and was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer 3 and 1/2 months later, at age 46. During our discussion, Jaclyn talks about why she advocates for women getting their annual mammograms, through her #AnnualMammosSaveLives campaign, why she chose to get a double mastectomy, and shares advice for women diagnosed with breast cancer. Jaclyn also shares her thoughts on the emotional struggles women may have when it comes to being diagnosed with breast cancer, an area which often represents our identification as women.
