Friends of the Rosary:
Today is the Corpus Christi Sunday, the Eucharistic Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. It follows the Solemnity of the Most Blessed Trinity, last Sunday.
On Holy Thursday’s last supper, the Son of God instituted the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist giving to humanity its greatest treasure, the treasure of Divinity’s infinite goodness upon us Christians.
In the words of St. Thomas Aquinas, “In the altar of the Cross, Jesus Christ immolated His own Body as victim for our reconciliation and shed His blood both for our ransom and for our regeneration.”
“Moreover, to remind us the great benefits that will always be with us, He left us His Body as food and His Blood as drink under appearances of bread and wine.”
As Thomas Aquinas said, the Eucharist is the greatest of his miracles.
