Description
[Comment: Injured Sheep]
Friends of the Rosary:
In today’s reading (John 10:11-18), Jesus reveals to humanity that He is the good shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep — for all of us, no exception.
We are one flock, the whole human family, under one divine shepherd, who out of merciful love sacrifices Himself, through his sorrowful passion, for our salvation from sin and spiritual death.
One of the earliest paintings of Christ in the Roman catacombs represented Jesus carrying an injured sheep on his shoulders. This is the manifestation of love that touches our innermost feelings. We have a shepherd who understands our struggle, and whose patience and mercy are infinite. He is always ready to go after every single one that falls.
We recognize His voice in prayer and rejoice by knowing, that despite our offenses, He, along with His Eternal Mother, takes care here of us on Earth and has prepared a room for us in heaven.
Ave Maria! Jesus, I Trust In You!
