On today's episode of Locked on Wild, we take a look at recent Wild draft classes to see where they have found late round gems. We start by discussing the overall draft strategy under Chuck Fletcher with the team a perennial playoff contender and their propensity to trade picks for veteran players to fill voids, or to draft players to fill specific spots on the roster. We look at a few instances of players available at the spot the Wild drafted that have performed better than who they selected. We discuss all of this with the caveat that just because a player performed better in one spot that doesn't guarantee success with the Wild. We finish by looking at more recent draft picks and why it feels like the Wild have had more solid selections since Judd Brackett took over.
