Description

My guest this week is Jonah Martin, a former ship captain in the Pacific NW, former libertarian, former secularist, and NOW Orthodox Christian, farmer in Iowa, and manager of St. Nicholas Press. His goal was to escape the nihilism of modernity. We all know what states like Washington were like over 2020 and 2021. Jonah says moving to a big farm in Iowa was like realizing none of that insanity even existed. How did his views on culture change? Did becoming Orthodox give him a different worldview than the one he had as a libertarian? What about his views on rights, liberty, and individualism--did those change? Can we have liberty without a moral society? These are the issues we dive into in this episode of the Counterflow Podcast.
