The MLB non-tender deadline has come and gone and Ryan Brasier remains a member of the Boston Red Sox.
NESN's Lauren Willand goes into the Red Sox not issuing contracts to Franchy Cordero (who came over in the Andrew Benintendi trade) and Yu Chang (who did not impress in his short time in Boston), while wondering why Ryan Brasier indeed was tendered a contract for the 2023 season.
Lauren also looks into a report from The Boston Globe about the Red Sox not even being interested in names like Justin Verlander, Jacob deGrom, Chris Bassitt and Carlos Rodon -- who would immediately upgrade the pitching.
