German based group Gift released two records and a single between 1972 and 1974 before splitting up. But with a successful reunion over the years, the group still has a story to tell! Prior to Gift, the band was originally called Phallus Dei (look up the translation), but with an angry church on their backs they changed their name to Gift, which I understand has two meanings. I did a written interview with member Rainer Baur a few months back, but I always wanted to circle back to doing an episode on the podcast with someone else from the band. Helmuth has released a large body of work over the years that ranges in all genres and after the band was said and done in the mid 70's, he got a degree and career in chemistry.
