Description

Why have I watched this movie 20 times? On the face of it, JC Chandor's ensemble drama, about an after-hours fiasco at a Wall Street firm, starring a starry ensemble including Zachary Quinto, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Irons, Stanley Tucci and Demi Moore, sounds like it should be dry and frankly, boring. It is anything but. The quality of the writing, the quality of the character work, the performances, the narrative structure, and the themes of the film, all come together to make something super-entertaining and a movie I revisit every few years. And like other All-Star episodes of this show, I discover new things about the movie as I get older and continue watching it. What movies are your Watch This Tonight All-Stars? Let me know. Shoot me an email at dan@voyagemedia.com and I'll read it on the show. Join our Facebook group at Watch This Tonight, or reach out on Instagram at watch_this_tonight or @BenamorDan on Twitter. Leave us a five-star review on Apple Podcasts or anywhere else you're listening if you're enjoying the show.
