For those not in the know, Alana is the second ever openly transgender woman mixed martial arts fighter, who just made her professional debut on Combate Global. She is also a former US Army Special Forces Green Beret now turned leftist activist, currently doing community outreach work for not only trans but also marginalized communities in the Portland area.
Alana sits down with the YPT team to discuss her first professional fight, training in mixed martial arts, overcoming adversity as a transgender woman in combat sports, how her military background disillusioned her from American imperialism, and what leftists can do to support the trans community.
