Description

Welcome back to THE Sports Law podcast. Your place for everything that relates to sports and the law. The Dans are joined by our blog post editor Evan Mattel (@Evan_Mattel21). Kanye is currently under fire for basically everything that he is doing and with that comes Donda Sports. (2:57) Adidas recently ended their very lucrative deal with Kanye and this could lead to IP issues because Kanye owns the Yeezy trademark, but Adidas owns the designs to the shoes. The Adidas separation can knock off $1.5 billion dollars on Kanye's net worth. Kanye was also spotted being thrown out of the Sketchers offices in LA, for what is believed to be him pitching a business deal with them. Donda sports marketing also lost two massive athletes Aaron Donald and Jalen Brown amidst Kanye's controversies. The President of Donda sports is Antonio Brown, who says that he is staying with the company. Antonio Brown has a $1.2 million judgment against him for the assault on the moving truck man. (13:11) Brown had repetitive no-shows to court appearances and conferences. Brown was issued a default judgment and ordered to pay $1.2 million in damages. You have heard our sports gambling segments sponsored by Bettor Edge. Now, the Dans bring on the founders of the site, Greg Kajewski (@gkajewski) and James Seils (@jaseils). (21:30) Bettor Edge is a social betting platform that is peer-to-peer. The company won a rising stars award in the sports betting space. Greg and James talk about the start-up of Bettor Edge and where they see the future of peer-to-peer betting.
