Description

On this episode of Conduct Detrimental: THE Sports Law Podcast, Mike Lawson (@MikesonofLaw) and Tarun Sharma (@tksharmalaw) are joined by two special guests to dive into a mesh of topics from Shohei Ohtani's gambling scandal to more NCAA battles across the association. It's a HUGE WEEK for sports law!

The first half hour kicks off with the return of Conduct Detrimental Founder, Dan Wallach (@WALLACHLEGAL) as he shares his insights into what is possible with what is currently known in the Shohei Ohtani and Ippei Mizuhara sports gambling issue. The gaming and sports law attorney shares the realities and sets the stage for more information to come out.

In the second half of this week's episode, Mike and Tarun are joined by Sam Ehrlich (@samcehrlich) to explore Clemson's filing of a 28-page complaint challenging the ACC’s Grant of Rights as well as the conference's response. The trio also share insights into a new antitrust lawsuit against the NCAA...
This one, filed by lead plaintiff and UNC tennis player Reese Brantmeier (on behalf of a proposed wider class), challenges the NCAA's prohibition on college athletes playing in outside competitions with prize money.

Make sure to listen through and share your thoughts with us! It's a jam-packed episode with a jam-packed crew!
