Description

When a childhood dream to become a ‘store lady’ didn’t pan out, Kamala Parks looked to other areas for inspiration. While attending school she began booking tours for bands such as the Offspring, Neurosis, Operation Ivy and Green Day, and was instrumental in the creation and growth of legendary DIY punk club 924 Gilman Street. Discovering a love for city planning, she became involved in transportation planning and engineering, and after a stint in the private sector, became senior planner for the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit). In our engrossing conversation we talk about touring, Robert Moses, the Satanic Temple and so much more. Check it out!
