The near proximity of Modena and Parma, contribute Balsamic Vinegar (otherworldly) and Prosciutto (cult-like following) and to top it off, all three of these cities are in the region of Emilia-Romagna. And it is only in Emilia-Romagna, that you can find the legitimate Parmigiano Reggiano.
