Description
This week we chat with Zach Donohue! He's the filmmaker behind the terrifying screenlife horror film The Den! Lately, he has an audio show on PocketFM called Uncomfortably Numb that shares some DNA with The Den. He also has an upcoming YouTube show called The Unknowable which will debut in October and can be found here. We talk about his horror history, his dad who made a bunch of films and has a Vimeo page where you can watch them! In particular, we talk about Zach's Dad's short film Haunted Dreams which is like A Nightmare on Elm Street. Check them out! Then we turn our attention to the fantastic Carnival of Souls, a movie that was ahead of its time and whose presence can be felt in a number of films over the years. We discuss purgatory, the push/pull of religion and secularism, creepy men, and why this movie terrified Zach growing up. This movie is fantastic, y'all and we recommend watching it if you haven't. You can follow Zach on Twitter and make sure to go watch/listen to the audio play, his upcoming cosmic horror YouTube show and his dad's Vimeo channel, all linked above.Follow Mary Beth, Terry and the Podcast on Twitter.
