The Miami Hurricanes suffered a 45-31 home loss to Middle Tennessee State on Saturday, September 24th, 2022. It goes down as one of the worst losses in program history. Starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke threw two early interceptions, one for a touchdown, and was eventually benched in the third quarter for backup Jake Garcia. Garcia provided a spark and looked better than TVD but could not lead the Canes to the comeback they were looking for. 
Host Alex Donno breaks down the situation and discusses whether Mario Cristobal should make a permanent quarterback switch from Van Dyke to Garcia. Donno says the worst thing Miami can do is play “musical quarterbacks.” Miami is heading into the bye week. Alex breaks down everything else that went wrong from the offensive line not getting proper push to the defensive secondary getting toasted repeatedly for big plays. Miami’s coaches need to fix these issues but the players also need to show the proper accountability to bounce back.
