#104: #QUARANTINE EDITION [Corona Virus] One month into #quarantinelife as a result of #CoronaVirus and many of us are getting a little stir crazy. After arguing with countless people on Facebook, I decided I'd go ahead and piss more people off by doing a quick rant with some of my thoughts. The bottom line is this: I don't think the current strategy is going to work. This doesn't mean I don't care about people dying from the virus, it simply means I don't think shutting down the country over a virus that ultimately kills a little more than 1.5% of the people that get it in our country makes any sense. Yes, I understand the argument of "slowing the spread" so that the hospitals don't get overwhelmed. That is definitely a great argument. However, that cannot be the long term solution. We can't shut the world down over something where 95% of the cases are MILD. Moving forward I think we need to figure out how to fix the hospitals getting overwhelmed problem. That's the problem we need to focus on. Staying at home indefinitely until "the coast is clear" is a bad strategy. Now they're saying that 50% of the people that test positive for Covid19 NEVER show any symptoms! If that's the case how are we ever going to know when it is safe to leave the house and go back to "normal"? Time to get back to work and figure out a different strategy. Just my two cents.
