Have you ever thought about social norms? For example, have you ever thought about the things that we're “supposed to do” or what’s “expected” of us? Social norms are the unwritten rules of beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors that are considered acceptable in a particular social group or culture. The container for these norms are within the conversations we have. What we should and shouldn’t do are held in our conversations that we have on a day-to-day basis. These "norms" provide us with an expected idea of how to behave and function to provide order and predictability in society.
