The mining industry in Australia is extremely busy today. This is mainly due to a huge surge in gold and lithium, which led to money being poured into producers. 
A few huge discoveries in Victoria and in Western Australia, have led to the mining industry there turning a corner, and becoming sought after by investors.
With the five-year downturn, mining in Australia has seen a large downturn in new recruits, especially amongst young people. Technology is fine, but there’s no substitute for human instinct.
Blackridge is the main focus for Impact Minerals right now. It is the conglomerate host of gold projects and so acts as the epicentre of activity.
Aside from normal operation challenges, the main issues affecting Impact are around technology. Advancements have meant huge challenges in data and applications, but also have increased productivity immensely.
Over the next decade, Mike wants Impact to attract more value, which will allow the company to expand and to seek out wealthier resources. Persistence is the key in exploration.
