Lacrosse was the likely the first team sport in North American history, it was played before Europeans ever arrived and today it is our official Summer National Sport. The history of lacrosse is also the history of Canada. Used to maintain alliances by the Indigenous, it would become a way to build patriotism in the new country of Canada centuries later.
