She has a Master of Public Health at the University of Melbourne and has a strong interest in indigenous health. She has volunteered as a field researcher in the Pilbara, WA as part of the National Indigenous Eye Survey and has been providing adult and paediatric eye care in Far North Queensland, privately and publicly. In particular, she has gained extensive experience in Indigenous eye care, serving communities up to Cape York.
