Description

For this episode I am so excited to be joined by Joel Visentin! A Toronto-based keyboardist and composer, Joel is a proud Winnipeg export with a passion for the keyboards. As a busy working musician in Toronto he has worked with a number of celebrated world class musicians. In 2015, he co-founded the trio JV’s Boogaloo Squad. They have since worked their way up through the national club circuit, recently headlining at major jazz festivals throughout Ontario and Québec including Toronto’s International Jazz Festival in 2018. Their 2019 album, Going To Market, has reached #6 on US Campus Jazz Radio charts as well as number #29 on JazzWeek’s chart for US commercial Radio. Joel has also been the keyboardist for Toronto-based Phish tribute band The Lizards since its inception in 2013. Listen as we dive into our favourite versions of Halley's Comet, talk democratic vs. dictatorship jamming, and how The Lizards approach setlists and improvisation!Ryan's Pick: 8/11/21 HersheyJoel's Pick: 11/22/97 Hampton
