Derek hails from Minnesota and is about to start his 5th year at Pepperdine. Derek took it all the way to the semis of the US Am this week which was super fun to watch and will open a lot of doors for him down the road. Before Derek, we are joined by Steve Burkowski from Golf Channel to glean a bit of knowledge from him on what its like to cover the US Amateur and why he loves amateur and collegiate golf so much.
