Description
Dr. Laurie Barber, MD (Little Rock, AR), Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Clinical Research Medical Director of the Jones Eye Institute, discusses dry eye particularly as it pertains to menopausal women. For additional information, please visit, www.uams.edu/jei. Second guest, Rebekah Jones (Boulder City, Nevada), Head Park Ranger with Lake Mead National Recreation Area, discusses Lake Mead’s invasive mussel species, the Quagga Mussel. Native to the Caspian Sea drainage area of Eurasia, the Quagga Mussel is a freshwater mollusk that typically displays a zebra-like pattern on its shell. Unfortunately, it can damage boats and water systems by clogging pipes and engines, as well as disrupt the natural food chain. Boater education is a must to reduce the spread of this freshwater mollusk to other bodies of water (Part 2). For additional information, please visit www.100thmeridian.org.
