After running a public and media relations firm for 12 years, Carlos Curbelo got involved in his community is 2010 to the Miami-Dade County School Board. In 2014, he was elected to Congress and served until January of 2019. Congressman Carlos Curbelo represented Florida’s 26th Congressional District. In Congress, Carlos Curbelo was often ranked as one of the most bipartisan members. Being a child of political refugees from Cuba and being born in Miami, Florida, Carlos Curbelo had high goals for climate change policy, immigration reform, tax policy, and gun safety. Congressman Curbelo did his best to generate a cooperative relationship regardless of political affiliation. He co-founded and co-chaired the Bipartisan Climate Solutions Caucus. Due to this effort, Congressman Curbelo was honored by the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation with the New Frontier Award for his work on environmental policy through bipartisan cooperation. In 2018, he was associated with the Market Choice Act, ambitious legislation that invested nearly 1 trillion dollars into American infrastructure while reducing greenhouse gas emissions through carbon pricing.
