Helen Pankhurst is a celebrated women’s right’s activist and author – a Special Advisor on Gender Equality to the leading global aid organisation CARE International, and has served as a fellow of the London School of Economics, a visiting professor at Manchester Metropolitan and as Chancellor of the University of Suffolk.She is also of course the great-granddaughter of Emmeline Pankhurst and granddaughter of Sylvia Pankhurst, leaders of the British suffragette movement. She has continued their legacy with a number of initiatives including Olympic Suffragettes and GM4Women 2028, and we recently spent some time with her at a special In Conversation talk at Manchester’s Circle Square, powered by our friends at Bruntwood.
