Description

On today’s episode, Jason kicks things off with a few thoughts on the Pro Football Focus All-Pro team which inexplicably left presumptive MVP Aaron Rodgers off altogether. According to PFF, both Tom Brady and Joe Burrow are more deserving of an All-Pro nod than Rodgers. This seems egregious on its face, that is unless you understand ‘how the sausage is made’ in sports media. PFF is clearly trying to cut through and get folks talking about them – and it worked. Later, Jason discusses the biggest difference between the vaunted Sean McVay Coaching Tree and the disappointing Bill Belichick Coaching Tree. The NFL has clearly moved away from the militaristic style that worked so well in New England; Players these days seem to respond much better to younger, offensive-minded coaches. Finally, our fearless leader does a deep dive into the pitiful College Football Playoff championship game ratings. Monday night’s title game between Alabama and Georgia were the 2nd lowest of the CFP era. Is it possible that sports fans are just tired of Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide? Does the CFP format need to be changed altogether to get fans from the West and Midwest more engaged?
