Description
On today's episode, Jason dives deep into the unreal season that Steph Curry is putting together. The Chef dropped 49 points against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night, including a signature 'Curry Flurry' in the 4th to help put the game away. He's been on absolute tear in the month of April, so much so in fact that Jason argues that Steph should be the NBA MVP. He's the epitome of Most Valuable Player; Take Steph off the Warriors and they're easily the worst team in the League. Later, Producer Rob G joins the show to pour a little cold water on Jason's take. First off, Curry's month of April isn't all that unusual. In fact, Damian Lillard put up similar stats to get the Portland Trail Blazers into the playoffs last year. Secondly, Curry has been fantastic but his 2021 season is eerily similar to Kobe Bryant's in 2006. Both guys put up otherworldly numbers only to have the MVP get handed over to player whose team won at a higher clip. Finally, the guys close the show with a nuanced conversation on what exactly makes Steph so popular amongst fans and media alike. Is it because he shoots 3's at an unbelievable clip? Is it because he's regularly outperforming superior athletes on the biggest stage? Is he because he's light-skinned? Whatever it is, unless you're going out of your way to be a curmudgeon, it's really hard to hate on the Baby Faced Assassin.
