Description
Jordan Robinson has always had sport in his life.
Whether it’s following Newcastle United as a season ticket holder, playing and coaching rugby or, in his current role, as the general manager of Newcastle Thunder, it’s been an ever-present.
Jordan has also known he was gay for a long time – but it was only in lockdown that he decided that he was ready to start the process of opening up to his family and close friends about his story.
And after hearing people like Super League referee James Child share their story on this podcast, he decided to get in touch to ask if he could talk about his own journey as well, in the hope it would help other people.
So that’s what this episode is all about – Jordan’s love of sport, the ups-and-downs of life as a Newcastle United fan, what an average day (if there is such a thing) in the life of a general manager is like, the impact of the pandemic, his own sexuality, speaking out and being visible, and so much more besides.
It’s a cracking episode, and we – as always – are massively grateful that Jordan has trusted us to tell his story for the first time.
