The birth of this podcast coincides with the twilight of Serena’s career, but what can we expect from her as she makes her comeback playing doubles with Ons Jabuer this week in Eastbourne? Rafael Nadal has also arrived in London fresh off a fifth place finish at the Balearic Golf Championship, but familiar questions about his foot and recent grass court record linger. Elsewhere Naomi Osaka and Sebastian Korda as well as Eugenie Bouchard (remember her?) have withdrawn due to injury and lack of ranking points, respectively. With those three making up only a fraction of the notable Wimbledon absences, we look ahead to the four warmup tournaments this week with an eye towards the field of contenders at the year’s third major.
