When the Galleria opened just before Thanksgiving in 1970, it changed how the country viewed shopping malls. It was massive, completely air conditioned, and away from downtown – it was designed to be its own destination spot. Now, over fifty years later, the Galleria isn't just existing, it might still be thriving.
