Description
Justin Bueno, PhD is the Scientific Director of Goodness Growth Holdings, Inc. Since joining Goodness Growth Holdings in 2018, Dr. Bueno has published two peer-reviewed articles in the field of cannabis science. One article, published in the Journal of Cannabis Research, described the validation and the science behind the novel TerpSafe packaging system towards the preservation of terpenes in cannabis flower. This article will be the basis of his presentation at CannMed 2022 titled, “The Preservation and Augmentation of Terpenes in Cannabis Inflorescence”.
Our conversation was all about terpenes, including:
How terpenes contribute to cannabis effects and overall quality Why using THC potency as an indicator of quality is short-sighted The difference between terpenes and terpenoids How the terpene profile of cannabis flower can change over time as molecules evaporate The inconsistency of terpene concentrations from flower to flower within the same batch How the new TerpSafe technology is addressing terpene preservation and batch consistency
