Description

An in depth tutorial and discussion around the assassination of John F. Kennedy, (JFK) the country's 35th president who was brutally murdered in Dallas Texas on November 22, 1963.Episode 14 Zapruder Part 6 continues the story of the Zapruder film,  and how it evolved as a  central  piece of evidence and a controlling element  of the investigation.  A controlling element from the standpoint of attempting  to assess the problems with so much of the corroborating forensic and circumstantial evidence that were part of the assassination story from the very beginning.  As we have said in prior episodes, there was no eyewitness, or eyewitnesses,  that actually saw anyone pull the trigger that day in Dallas.  As a result, this case evolved very quickly into an analysis of the forensics and circumstances.  The  Zapruder film was the only film that captured the actual assassination itself, and it’s cinematic and photographic evidence becomes central to tying together much of the other ballistics information. Episode 14 picks up in April 1975 as  Time, Inc. gives the film back to the Zapruder family  for $1 and we track the film from there,  including  the fascinating events that involved the film during that period.  We see the film  re-enter   pop culture in the film JFK and make its way through a major copyright case designed to free the  film for researchers and the american public alike. I won't spoil the ending,  You will just have to watch the episode. Complex cases without  an eyewitness that can actually identify the shooter, make the forensic and circumstantial evidence that much more important.  Ironically, problems abound with much of the evidence in this case  and the Zapruder film puts much of the evidence in the original story told by the authorities in doubt. Evidence that is complex, incomplete and sometimes conflicting, and evidence  that audiences find fascinating and perplexing  when they hear the details. Even as early as 1964, rumors and serious concerns over  the lone gunman theory and the evidence that might contravene it,  were becoming a major concern for the government and the commission. Conspiracy theories were contrary to the government's stated narrative from the very beginning. Stay tuned as there are many more episodes to come! This series comprehensively explores the major facts,  themes, and  events leading up to the assassination in Dealey Plaza and the equally gripping stories surrounding the subsequent investigation. Learn more about Lee Harvey Oswald the suspected killer and Jack Ruby the distraught Dallas night club owner with underworld ties and the man that killed Oswald as a national TV audience was watching.  Stay with us as we take you through the facts and theories in bite sized discussions that are designed to educate, and inform as well as entertain the audience.
