We covered a little bit of everything in this episode! The day we recorded this episode was International Vaquita Day. The new film about the plight of the vaquita called Sea of Shadows premiers world wide on July 12th.
We gave a recent update of whale watching in Monterey Bay and some updates from San Juan Islands. The day this episode airs, Slater will be touching down in the Pacific Northwest! Sounds like all the Southern Residents might be back in the Salish Sea.
We also talked about some recent bird sightings in the harbor and the bay. We answered a question about the role food availability plays in whale migration from one of our listeners toward the end of the episode.
