It’s opening night for our Detroit Tigers and just a few hours before first pitch we were joined by Tigers second baseman Niko Goodrum. Huge asked Niko his perspective on some of the players kneeling during the National Anthem last night. Off that, Niko gave us some insight what it was like for him growing up in Georgia. And given that it’s opening night – Niko gave his thoughts on the team and what he hopes for the season. In our hour Huge also talked about that first pitch last night from Fauci which made him ask the Huge Question of the Day – Who should throw out the first pitch of the Tigers’ opening game against the Royals on Monday? We took your comments and thoughts throughout the entire broadcast today.
In our second hour we were joined by Tim Twentyman to get a Lions update. He and Huge talked about Matt Patricia, what the team is doing to stay on the right track, and how the NFL is handling the pandemic. And given that it is the first official game for the Tigers tonight, we wanted to play our interview from last week with Detroit Tigers shortstop Jordy Mercer. We were joined by the host of X’s and Bro’s, Anthony Bellino to get his thoughts on the Tigers and to also talk about his morning show which is heard on some of our great affiliates.
In our final hour we wanted to replay our interview with Detroit Tiger Niko Goodrum as first pitch is merely an hour away. We were then joined by our medical insider Dr. K to get an update on the virus’s impact on sports and the recent Covid-19 numbers. Huge and Dr. K also took a deeper look at the return of football as it relates to youth leagues, high school, colleges, and the NFL.
