In our first hour today, we were joined by Tommy Doles, the son of one of West Michigan's top sports reporters. We had Tommy on to get some perspective on what it was like going from Northwestern to being picked up for a period of time by the Chicago Bears. Following his brief stint in the NFL he decided he wanted to join the armed forces for our country. Tommy also gave us some insight into what it was like in Europe at the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak, as he was over in France at the time. Bill and Tommy wrapped up their conversation with talking about how he and his family have been holding up, as well as what they've been up to during this lock-down.
We were joined by Scoop Jackson out of Chicago for our second hour of the show today. He and Bill discussed everything “The Last Dance” related. They talked about some of the stories that came out of the documentary. Scoop also gave us some personal stories he had regarding Michael Jordan and the Bulls back in their hay day. We also heard from Scoop on how he’s been doing and what he’s been doing to stay busy during the pandemic. Bill also talked to Scoop about his new book - The Game is not a Game which is out online and in bookstores now.
In our final hour, we were joined by Lieutenant Colonel Dan Rooney. Dan is the founder of the Folds of Honor Foundation which originated at the Grand Haven Golf Club in 2007. Dan was inspired by the passing of Army Corporal Brock Bucklin – Dan created this foundation for men and women killed/injured in combat. Some great recent news tells us that Jack Nicklaus is redesigning the Grand Haven Golf Club currently. It will be reopened as The American Dunes Club. The great thing about this happening is that all proceeds will be going to the Folds of Honor Foundation.
