Description

On today’s episode, Greg and Brian are joined by their good friend Mike Siracuse. Mike is a Scientist, Pilot, Entrepreneur, Producer, and Information Theorist who has been serving our country both inside and outside the Department of Defense for several decades. Mike has an amazing ability to draw on his vast array of life experiences which includes everything from being an enlisted sailor to working alongside some of the most brilliant minds that our country has ever produced. In fact, Mike was even part of the team that built the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s TIA program. If you’re not familiar with that is we've provided some links below, but basically it was the massive terrorist surveillance program built by the US Government following the attacks on 9/11.During the episode we discuss a number of different topics that are all related to Information theory including how we describe information, how it’s categorized, how to use it for predictive analysis and most importantly, how to operationalize information into a training solution.Mike draws on a number of examples to illustrate his points including fighting fires, hunting terrorists, and even the weaponization of 911.Greg and I really enjoyed this conversation and we’re thinking about doing a future mini-series with Mike where we take one specific topic and have a detailed discussion on that issue. If that’s something that sounds interesting to you please reach out and let us know, we would love to get your feedback.Episode Linkshttps://www.epic.org/privacy/profiling/tia/tiasystemdescription.pdfhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_Information_AwarenessContact LinksFollow us on FaceBook: https://www.facebook.com/HBPRA/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/arcadia_cognerati/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1S7E4hgSfLVWi4jGlKKqawWebsite: https://www.arcadiacognerati.comTwitter: https://twitter.com/A_CogneratiItunes: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/left-of-greg-podcast/id1448181902Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1BgPDLkWp5iptfZOnXvSSEMusic from https://filmmusic.io "District Four" by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.com)License: CC BY (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/)Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/LeftOfGreg/)
