Description

Today, we welcome the amazing Sonja O’Hara to the podcast! Her writing & directing credits include Mid-Century & Root Letter, which will be out soon, and the indie TV show Doomsday (2016-2022).
She’s here to talk with our hosts Giles Alderson and Dom Lenoir about her inspirations, her start in the film industry, the female gaze, and how she sold her eggs – YES, HER EGGS – to make her first feature film at the age of 25. She also discusses how to find and speak to investors as a first-time filmmaker and how she made the jump from feature filmmaking to TV.
She obviously talks all about her show Doomsday, how it came about and how she sold it. She talks about directing the show, directing herself, blocking, and why being yourself makes you a better director.
Chatting with Sonja was an absolute blast. You don’t want to miss this. Tons of filmmaking tips & tricks in this one. So sit back, relax and enjoy this week’s inspiring episode with Sonja O’Hara.

DOOMSDAY is out now!
Doomsday follows the daily lives of the residents of a millennial cult and explores the grey area where youthful idealism evolves into deadly extremism.
