Carrie opened her first vintage and upcycling boutique in Los Angeles back in 2005, and some of her vintage finds from those days were styled on the seasons of Mad Men – you better believe we chat about that! These days, she runs a vintage boutique called Best Friend Central, and she works at the intersection of mental health and style. When Carrie signed the lease on the space that would be Best Friend Central in the early days of the pandemic lockdown she felt like she had to muster up real courage to do something most considered unthinkable. But she painted her storefront’s door bright yellow (to symbolize hope) and for the last few years she’s been building something really special for her neighborhood, based around positivity and friendship as much as style.
